Los Angeles

Our last US stop, LA. First night in went down the Hollywood Blvd to check it out, and also to check out the new Hard Rock Cafe there. It is really new and really big. We ended up having dinner there. Was pretty cold there (colder than Vegas, not surprising considering it's position).

The next day spent at the newer Disney theme park (which I hadn't been to on my last LA visit).

There was another Tower of Terror there, and another cool roller coaster, and this stupid Ferris wheel thing where the carriages rock and roll about. At least on roll coasters and tower of terrors things are happening quickly, and there is huge adrenalin rushes, but things that just hang there.. don't like! :-P

And us on it

After that, there was a midnight flight home, where we lost a day or two (something like that). So today in Brissie where will stay till next week.

Can't wait to go back to the US. New York needs a much longer stay, like to spend some time in Miami, Seattle, Washington, the Keys,  and of course Vegas has to be part of any trip there (and next time Grand Canyon), and I'm told Denver is really nice too.

And Orlando (or anywhere in Florida)

So many other places there to see.. and then there is Canada! Oh, and Area 51 (well of course you can't go to it, but to the outskirts maybe. Better start planning the next trip.

Vegas To LA Trip

Monday we reluctantly had to leave Vegas. (Waaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!)

Didn't get to tick all the boxes. Didn't get the trip to Grand Canyon in, and also I didn't get to check out any of the shows.

Not that worried, I'll pick up Grand Canyon the next trip (not going to wait 8 years this time!). Also there will be plenty of shows playing in Vegas when I am there next. There was too much other stuff to do at night and not enough nights there.

Also next time, I want to find some "wacks jobs" to bring me to spy on Area 51 :-P (Google won't show me where it is - the only time it has let me down on this trip :-(

Anyway, the trip was once again the amazing Geography, and of course Peggy Sues 50s dinner.

Saw lots of these signs on the way out of Vegas.

Vegas (part 3)

It is harder to find time to post in Vegas, as you tend to be out until you're ready to crash.

Saturday, we visited Hoover Dam. It is not that far a drive from, Vegas, and event the drive to it, anyone who has done it must agree that the scenery is amazing.

1st stop was Lake Mead, a man made reservoir (as a result of the Hoover Dam). It is the largest in capacity in the US

That night, after starting that the Rio iBar (which is good except for the music there), looking for some more live music, we decided to go the Dueling Pianos show at the Times Square bar in New York NewYork (I knew this from my previous visit).

A very full on night! The Americans love AC/DC and Cold Chisel, all of which was played here. These guys could play anything people would throw at them.

The next night, went to House of Blues for Dinner. Another great band, playing vintage blues

And that was the last night in Vegas :-(

Next day (today), we drove to LA. Will do another post about that
