Were a bit late getting to San Francisco. Our flight got cancelled due to some some problems with the aircraft. There was lots of confusion and angry people. However they (United) did offer hotels rooms, or in our case, they found a flight for the same day on a different carrier (American Airlines) (though wasn't direct, but we got there).
It was really cold in San Fran, esp after sunny Orlando!
That night did some driving around. As seen on TV, the streets here are really hilly and steep.
Went for a driving tour including Golden Gate bridge, and also Oakland Bay bridge (which is actually longer than Golden Gate).

| Not a great shot, but this is Lombard street, known as being worlds crookedest street .. contested of course! |

Crossed the Golden Gate bridge to go up to an area known as the Golden Gate National Reserve Area. Of course, great views over San Fran from there.

The next day, we went on a tour out to Alcatraz. While there, can do an audio tour of the place, which was really good and informative.
